A project will be launched in Glasgow to raise awareness of the benefits to mother and baby of breastfeeding.
Mums are being encouraged to breastfeed with pride with help from St Richard’s Hospital and the National Childbirth Trust as part of Breastfeeding Awareness Week which starts on Sunday.
For these mothers, being appreciated wasn’t the only thing on the agenda this weekend. Learning valuable parenting skills was just as important. On Saturday, about 200 families participated in the third annual World’s Greatest Baby Shower at Lincoln Middle School.
KINGSTON — Spaces are still available in a free, six-week workshop called “Parenting A Second Time Around,” a program designed for grandparents who raise their grandchildren.
Child protection, reproductive choices, infant feeding and teenage parenthood (including planned teenage pregnancy and positive experiences of teenage motherhood) are among the topics to be discussed at an international conference on childrearing in the age of ‘intensive parenting’. The William W. Backus Hospital and Madonna Place are partnering up to offer expectant parents advice on raising a child. The 10-week program is free and will include dinner. Classes will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each Thursday beginning May 17 in the Backus Birthing Center teaching room.
